Every Sunday my friend and I have scheduled brunch dates. This week we planned on going to Alice’s Tea Cup, but apparently the voucher that I bought wasn’t valid for Sundays. We started googling new places for brunch. I came up with a few coffee shops that I already knew of, but my friend told me to go to a new place called Candle 79. The restaurant is located on 154 East 79st. It’s an organic vegan and vegetarian place. We ordered the “Brunch Prix Fixe” for both of us. This included brunch item, dessert and smoothie/mimosa/juice or bloody merry. I ordered the vegetable tofu scramble and my friend took the nuevos rancheros. For desserts we took the Mexican chocolate brownie and the chocolate peanut butter bliss.
I decided to wear my new shoes that I bought last week at soho, 109 spring street. The store is called “Sam Edelman“‘. I never heard about it before I came
to NYC. In the store you can find mostly shoes and some clothes, but if you enter the website you can find their apparel, handbags, jewelry, and shop
online. If you are looking for a cheaper more modern look, you should check out the line his son designed, “Circus,” also under the Sam Edelman brand, this edgy look is affordable and fitting for the everyday millennial.
How was the vegetarian/vegan place? I don´t eat meat and would love some healthier options!
The brunch itself was very tasty, but my dessert was a bit of a let down (I ordered the brownie). My friend’s dessert, on the other hand, was really good.
