Non-Profit Animal Sanctuary

I always wanted to live in the countryside, taking care of animals with special needs or any animals who cannot be placed in a home. I always wanted to open an Animal Sanctuary to help animals young and old. Many people in general always abandon their animals, the ones in the shelter especially the older animals rarely adopted. I would love to take them in and take care of them. People always wanted kittens or puppies. Same goes for any type of farms animals, like pigs, goats or any animals that truly need love and to be taken care of. As a child, I wanted to become a veterinary, but math wasn’t my best subject, in science I did semi-okay. Even though I couldn’t be a Veterinary, knowing that I can able to help animals in a different way. Animals always make me happy, I adopted my two dogs. My first dog passed away two years ago, recently I adopted another dog last year. Now I wanted to try my best to save other animals one day when I retired. I never truly understand why most people adopt animals down the road they abandon their animals. Even though it takes a lot of work, taking care of different animals, but knowing that I’m able to help animals that have special needs, old age that requires more help to take care of.

I think the whole desire to help others, animals included, is a very rewarding experience for both parties. I hope you find a way to combine both your major and your yearn to do anything to help animals. Have you taken any steps to reach that goal ?

I’m still in the process how to go by making my goal. As for now, trying my best to save up money and maybe one day I could open one.

This is awesome, I think you should really do it! But why wait until you retire? Go for it girl! I love animals as well and I really want to learn more about them! I was just like you, I was in between Marketing and Marine Biology ( I know totally different haha) but I am just so interested in the marine life! But you never know, I might go for it in the future, never too late right?

For now, I wanted to make sure I have enough money to able to take of the animals and paid back my loans etc… and by that time I have more free time. But I definitely will do it one day when I know when the time is right.

I used to work for a Vet a few summers ago, and I even started taking online classes to become a vet tech but nothing worked out and it wasn’t meant to be. However, I did gain a good amount of knowledge about dog and cat anatomy. I’ve always said the same thing.. I’d love a lot of open land with a lot of dogs. I don’t think I’ll ever have kids so dogs is a big yes. Love this post!

Same here, I probably don’t want kids either and having animals around me always makes me happier.
