At first, at such times each year, people in the western part of Saudi Arabia used to celebrate the month of Sha’baan; it is an annual habit that should be done by people in the western part of Saudi Arabia, the definition of shabana is people are meeting each others before entering the holy month of Ramadan to say bye to the days of Iftar and prepare for fasting. Moreover, we are now in New York and most of my friends here from the western part, so we will not meet our friends and family to having the shabana and enjoy before Ramadan, so we had a shabana on Saturday at the park in New Jersy. Our Saudi Club in NYIT invited all saudi’s students to enjoy and have fun with others. We had a barbeque party and some games for children and adults such as, coloring kids faces, playing soccer games and volleyball.

The point about writing this blog is showing others how we are a good family in United States and we still maintain to many of the customs and traditions we have in our country which is a good thing, and I think everyone should do the same, so what are some customs and traditions that you can share it with us!

I really agree on that we have to maintain doing whatever we do in our cultures even if we are not home.. This is us and we should always be proud no matter where we are.
