The Manhattan Campus of the New-York Institute of Technology will be getting its first newspaper since 2004, as students are preparing the first issue of the Manhattan Globe, this tuesday, October 18th!
I am really proud to be part of this great project. The newspaper will be published by both undergraduate and graduate students, taking the school’s Newspaper Lab course, supervised by professor and professional journalist Larry Jaffee. The class is covering campus news as well as New-York city news, arts and entertainments, and college student lifestyle. All articles are written and edited by students, who are also handling production, design, sales and marketing functions. The goal is to publish three issues of the Manhattan Globe during this fall semester and three next spring.
The Manhattan Globe‘s team consist of 18 NYIT students, between 20 and 32 years old, from all around the world – Greece, Puerto-Rico, China, France, Sri Lanka, Canada, the U.S…
The paper is being funded by the NYIT Student Government Association.
Moreover, you are ALL welcome to join us, if you are interested in participating in this project in any way, every tuesday in Room 919, Building W16, from 2:25 to 4:45pm.
