Since i live in NYC , i will take opportunity to visit many interesting places, The Guggenheim is one place that i would love to go. Also all of my architecture friends recommended this place. Also ,I feel that living in a big apple city with concrete jungle, the noise of sirens, and the people in an rush hour , then I need an art to balance my soul.
“The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Guggenheim, is an art museum located at 1071 Fifth Avenue on the corner of East 89th Street in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It is the permanent home of a continuously expanding collection of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, early Modern and contemporary art and also features special exhibitions throughout the year.”
The interesting of this museum is about the designed of the building and interior design that created the continuing walkway like a spiral lamp which’s starting from the top to the gourd floor. If you look from the top, you will see the spiral lamp. This is an interesting idea that make the audiences can visit all exhibitions without taking an elevator or stepping the stairs. The exhibition niches that surround the central spiral. It guides you from exhibition to exhibition and art to art.
In addition, the second floor houses impressionist artists: Monet, Van Gogh, and others which was neat. I remembered the name of these artists when i was studying the historical subject in my childhood and i didn’t believe that i will have chance to see trough my eyes.
Beside that there is the skylight in the center of the museum which is environment friendly building.
