As I sit in room 919 of the 61st Street building listening to christmas songs and Whitney Houston with @thiggins99, I realize one
thing… I couldn’t be happier that this semester is almost over.
These last 15-ish weeks have been…hectic, to say the least. And while I am aware there are people who do even more than I do on a daily basis, I am ready for a break from the full-time work/full-time school schedule I maintain each fall and spring… BUT, before I throw in the towel so to speak, there just a few things I’d like to do first (besides write my final for COMM 663)…
@jtinari – THANK you for all of your moral support on and offline. What would I do with you (and your eyebrows??) Let’s do it again next semester?? Lisa C, here we come.
@remimuniz – For the always fashionable advice on lipstick and for adding my number…. oh wait… Good luck in your new role! You are the perfect girl for the job! and this is just the beginning!! x
@thiggins – The library won’t be the same without you…it will be quieter, without singing. 😉 but really, who will I get to go with me now?? Looking forward to hearing about KayakNorthEast.com being the next (and only) big kayaking website! Listen to Preeya – make it happen!
@liachristilautomo – Thank you for the Kale Salad post! I will be coming back for this!! 🙂
@catxiang – Your post about how to pronounce Chinese names might have been the most helpful thing anyone has posted all semester! I will be using this in future! Thank you for your input through the class! Good luck for whatever is next and enjoy NYC!
@mganou – Miss Morgane! It has been a pleasure to learn about your love of hip-hop and how different it actually is from what people stereotype it to be! I hope that whatever you wish to do next happens for you! All the best is everything you do!
@dguest01 – I think we all need to thank you for knowing when to laugh at @comm663 jokes… we would be lost without you! But seriously, your input throughout the class has been valuable to say the least! Wishing you all the best with the next phase for Griots Roll Productions!
@sunnyfromchina – Thank you for commenting on almost all of my blogs! I think you might be my biggest fan! 🙂 I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in New York, as long or short as that may be! and please let me know if you try any of the things on my list of things to see in NYC!
@koowathanat – I loved your post about Ugly Betty! And thank you for all of your kind comments and support throughout the semester. I am not sure what you have after this is over but I send well wish for your endeavors! Enjoy your time in NYC!
@2muchmelo – Thank you for opening up about your significant other and sharing with us your struggles and advice on long-distance dating! If I am ever in this situation, I will be re-reading these blogs!
@gigilauren – Another semester done! We made it! Good luck for spring and I hope everything gets sorted out with your credits etc! and if I’m lucky, I’ll see you in some classes next semester!
@mpb1031 – Of all the blogs I have read this semester, this one was the most impacting for me. I said it before, but thank you again for writing something so beautifully and somewhat brutally honest. I often need the reminder that where I am is where I am supposed to be and I think of your wise words when I need reminding. I am wishing you and your son all the best, especially in your new career and your “starting over” phase you mention in this blog!
@zymia – Aside from being the most outgoing and spirited person I have met, I have to say, YOUR SHOES! I have never seen you wear a pair I didn’t love! Good luck in all you do!
@dounialoveny – Although you made it a point not to be too personal in your blogs, I found them all interesting! And more often than not very funny! I’ve enjoyed your style of writing and I wish you the best in whatever ways you end up using what you have learn in class! Enjoy NYC! 🙂
@myriamamou – Miss Myriam, you are so lovely and sweet! It has been a pleasure to read all that you have posted throughout the semester! I’m not sure when you finish but I hope that NYC treats you well for all of your time here and best of luck for your future! 🙂
@comm663 – and finally… Thank you for the reminder not to be stupid (which I think I probably needed more than I’d like to admit). I have learned invaluable lessons throughout this class that I hope I’ll get to use professionally, but regardless of profession, this will always be applicable.
Wishing the best for you all. x
