I did not know oompa loompas were actually real.

If you have been watching the news this week, you have probably heard about the mother from New Jersey who is being accused of taking her 5 year old daughter into a tanning salon.

If you were like me, then your reaction may have been along the lines of “Wtf?!”

First of all, the mother, Patricia Kretncil looks like this…

You know its bad when “Jersey Shore” castmate Snooki says you are “crazy”

Secondly, its bad enough kids as young as five are being overly sexualized on shows like “Dance Moms” and “Toddlers and Tiaras.” Do we really need to add to that risk with skin cancer down the line too?

I mean if you want to be tanorexic, fine, but don’t drag your kids into it. However even in Krentcil’s life she said she had “been tanning her whole life.”

I don’t know any parents, or grandparents for that matter who will allow their offspring to fall into something like that. And whats worse, don’t see a problem with it.

What’s your take bloggers? Did this mom go too far?

  1. I agree that this mother has a major problem. And worse yet, she is a role model to her daughter as to what is important in one’s appearance. It doesn’t matter if the girl didn’t get a tan at the salon, she has been observing her mother do it on a regular basis as if it is necessary. But I also worry that the girl, who is a fair skinned red head, got a sunburn, since the push is to put sun block on whenever you go out. Red-heads are especially vulnerable, as I should know having grown up as a fair skinned red head myself. It makes me wonder if she feels her daughter needs to be tanned too in order to be appealing to others, thus not protecting her on hot sunny days.

I’m not going to bash the woman because what she has is an addiction which is a sickness. When I saw it on the news I was in awe. She looks scary. I havent been following the story did she really put her daughter in the tanning bed? or she was making an attempt?..I mean either way its bad.

She just needs help. And I wouldnt even service her if she came to my tanning place..Thats an INSTANT DENIAL!

I dont know if she ACTUALLY bought her daughter into the salon, but they did say the girl had burns on her, and that she told her teachers she “had gone tanning with mommy.”

The mother does have a problem and what makes it worse is that she doesn’t see it. This could be dangerous because she is sending a message to her kids that it is ok to be THAT tan! She needs counseling and fast!

She definitely needs to seek help! For someone who looks like burnt toast, and still feels like she needs to go tanning is mentally ill. And to even think about taking a young child to the tanning salon is mind twisting. She needs to seek help.

The sad thing is that there are many other people in the world who looks like her from tanning too much. When is she going to realize that when you look like burnt toast, enough is enough. This is sad!

It is sad, but the irony here is even Snooki from Jersey Shore called her crazy. That is a bad sign!

The tanning salon should have never allowed her to go this far, they only wanted the money and failed to point out the risks to her I mean I am sure they must of realized that she is incapable of normal judgment.

  7. this is absolutely harendous, this women looks one of the bears from the bernstein bears childrens books we use to read when we were younger. The girl at the best at the tanning salon should have been smart enough to not allow this to happen she should definitely be fired!
