Have you ever bought juice or smoothers called acai berries? Or the superfood? The term superfood is used to describe a special category of food that provides much more than regular nutrients and Acai belongs to that category.

Acai is of the size of a grape and it’s considered one of the most nutritious fruits in the planet. It is harvested in the rainforests of Brazil, north of the country. The fruit tastes like a blend of berries and chocolate. Acai contains amino acids, healthy omega fats, dietary fiber and protein.

Acai became a very important ingredient on people’s diet because it is full of a special kind of antioxidant capable of fighting the free radicals within the body. Those radicals are responsible for the effects of aging and for degrading a person’s health over time. And once you integrate them in your diet the benefits could be great.

About 10 years ago, Acai began to be exported to the US, where companies developed several products, such as Acai berries juice, Acai smoothers, Acai superfood and all kinds of products containing Acai. They sell those products promising all the great benefits of Acai. People now buy even protein shakes made with Acai to lose weight or to tone their bodies.

Most people have already tried Acai and they are buying this “superfood idea”, meaning that by using products made with Acai, people can get more nutrients and be healthier. Do you believe that there really is a superfood? Have you ever tried Acai? And how would you describe your experience?

I recently just happened to know a dietary supplement product with Acai as the main ingredients, which stated its feature as “help defer the visible signs of aging” since “Acai can delivers a powerful dose of antioxidants to protect against free radical damage.” As a woman like many other women on earth who don’t want to get aged, I did consider buying it. Of course with “superfood” in title, it’s not cheap. Then I start wondering how “super” is the superfood can be? If it’s truly super in the content of antioxidant, then is there any differences if I eat other “regular” berries/friuts instead? Will the difference big enough to actually shows? Let’s say, will I have 5 winkles less on my face when I turn 60 if I eat Acai? I think this is the tricky part about all antioxidant beauty products, as it needs time to prove out and the measurement is hard. In another words, it’s impossible to prove if it works since no individual is identical and you can’t have your life again to compare the effects of “use it” and “not use it”….Anyway, I give up spending $50 per month eventually and decide just to eat more fruits everyday, which is definetly good for my health while dont have to pay the extra for the uncentain expectation.

Agreed!! Its impossible to measure how effective the product is. And in some cases, they didn’t even do a test to make sure Acai can really help people more than other fruits. I believe its more about having a product and creating its imagine to sell it better.
I’ve been drinking a type of Acai soup since i was a child. It is healthy and powerful but i still dough it can slow down the aging process more than any other fruit.
